Back To Beaverton Neighborhoods And Homes For Sale

Relocating to Cedar Hills Beaverton Oregon

Relocating to Cedar Hills Beaverton OregonMoving to Beaverton? How about Cedar Hills? This trendy neighborhood is close to Hwy 26, which means it's easy to get to downtown Portland or head west to Cannon Beach and the beautiful ocean just an hour outside of the city. Home to about 9,000 residents, Cedar Hills has been touted as one of the 'coolest' suburbs in the Portland metro area. Why? Probably because of the location and the perks. You've got Cedar Hills Crossing right here! This great metro complex is almost completely surrounded by the residential area of Cedar Hills and it has all the amazing restaurants, stores, and theaters you love, without having to trek very far to get it.

"Conveniently located along several bus lines and public transportation. Close to the city and other suburban areas and shopping."

Cedar Hills Crossing has a great movie theater, Powell's Books (one of Portland's signature and iconic stores), the neighborhood Goodwill for killer deals and hipster threads, TJ Maxx, Home Goods,  Petco, Best Buy, Winco, New Seasons Market and my favorite, the Asian Family Market. Grab the fixings for some homemade sushi or Bibimbap and head home... literally less than 5 minutes away when you live in Cedar Hills.

Then of course, is McMenamins. This Oregon staple is a trendy yet classy favorite and offers some of the best micro-brews in the state. Right here in Cedar Hills is the McMenamins Rock Creek Tavern. A funky reclaimed barn offering live music, shuffleboard, great food and good beer. Head out on the corner patio and people watch, connect with friends and neighbors and all of it is less than 5 minutes from most homes in Cedar Hills.

Cedar Hills Schools

A lot of folks that move to Cedar Hills do so for the schools. It's part of the Beaverton School District and most students are assigned to either the Ridgewood or the William Walker Elementary School, the Cedar Park Middle School, and the Beaverton High School. The Ridgewood Elementary has top ratings by students and parents. Here's what they say about the elementary and the high school:

"I feel very blessed that my son is obtaining high quality education at BHS!! I have the highest respect for the teachers, staff and students." - Beaverton High School

"I have two girls at Ridgewood and the teachers and staff are incredible. We love the PYP program and families are super involved which results in a wonderful sense of community. We moved into the community to attend Ridgewood and are completely happy with our decision." - Ridgewood Elementary School

Cedar Hills Real Estate

Cedar Hills Real EstateDid you know that about 60% of residents own their own homes? You know what that means... 40% rent! Ok, I knew you figured that out but it's because both homes and rentals are pretty affordable. The average home price for Cedar Hills is between $300,000 - $500,000 and the median rent is about $1,200.  There are technically 4 quadrants to Cedar Hills, the largest being the northwest quadrant housing more than 1000 homesites and properties. The Tektronix Industrial Park is in the southwest and is primarily industrial with the Nike AIR Manufacturing plant, Tektronix Field, and a few commercial buildings, but this is also home to that famed McMenamins.

"Cedar Hills is a very nice neighborhood in the suburbs of Portland. It is a great place for families as it has multiple parks and is very safe."

Just east of Cedar Hills Crossing is the southeast quadrant that is pretty much residential, just north of that Asian market we love so much and also home to the Center Street Park, just a block or 4 from most homes here.  The northeast quadrant houses the Cedar Hills Rec Center, the middle school and a few amenities at the intersection of Hwy 26 and 217, but again, primarily residential. Most homes are single family but you'll find a few duplexes and townhouse communities sprinkled in.
